ResetThe mental training app
for athletes.

A note from our co-founders

Why we created Reset

We are all parents of athletes. We have seen the work they put in, the pressure they feel and how much a difficult game can stay with them. We built Reset to put mental training within their reach, and within reach of every athlete.

Why this is personal

We have been on those sidelines, too.

If you are a parent of an athlete, you know how much of family life happens around a sport. The Saturday mornings. The late practices. The long car rides home, when you are trying to work out whether your child needs encouragement, a conversation or just a little quiet.

We know those moments, too. Between our families, there is volleyball, golf, baseball and soccer. We have watched our children work hard for something they care about, then struggle with the pressure of wanting to do it well. We have seen a mistake stay with them long after the play was over.

You can see how much it matters. You want to help them find their way back to the game they love. And you want them to have something they can use when you are not there to offer a word from the sideline.

That is where Reset began. We saw a gap between the mental training athletes need and the training many of them can actually access. We wanted to help close it, for our children and for yours.

The problem

Being told to focus is not being taught how.

“Focus.” “Be confident.” “Shake it off.” Athletes hear these words all the time. The person saying them usually means well. But being asked to find your confidence in the middle of a difficult game is a lot to carry when no one has shown you how to practice it.

At the highest levels of sport, athletes can have mental performance specialists working alongside their coaches. For many families, that kind of support is harder to find, harder to fit into the week and expensive to keep up with. There is already a lot to pay for in youth sports.

A young athlete should not have to wait until they make a professional roster to start learning these skills. A family should not have to choose between another season of sport and help with the mental side of it. The question we kept coming back to was simple: how could we make this training easier to reach?

What we are building

Mental training you can take with you.

Reset puts short, personalized mental training on your phone. It draws on Braden’s experience as an athlete and his work teaching mental skills, with sessions built around situations athletes recognize: the nerves before competition, a difficult stretch of play, the mistake you keep thinking about.

The idea is simple. Give athletes something they can learn, a chance to practice it and a way to carry it into their sport. Help them prepare for the moment before it arrives, and give them a place to return when it does not go the way they hoped.

  • PrepareSet your mind before practice or competition.
  • FocusBring your attention back to what you can control.
  • ResetFind your next response after a mistake.
  • ReflectLearn from the experience and carry it into tomorrow.

Why an app

Lower the barriers. Open the door.

We cannot put a mental performance specialist beside every athlete at every practice. We can put a place to learn in their pocket. A short session can fit around school, work, practice and family life. An athlete can come back to it, try again and build on what they are learning.

Cost matters, too. We know families are already making decisions about fees, equipment, travel and coaching. Reducing the cost of getting started with mental training is part of why Reset exists. Our goal is to make this kind of practice affordable enough for more athletes and families to take part.

Coaches and mental performance professionals have an important place in an athlete’s life. Reset gives athletes a way to begin learning and to keep practicing between those conversations.

Our vision

For athletes of all ages.

We are building for the child finding their feet in a first season, the teenager chasing a goal, the college athlete facing a new level of competition and the adult who still loves to play. The circumstances change. The need to work through pressure, regain focus and build confidence stays with us.

Our mission is to make mental training accessible to millions of athletes, across sports, ages and levels. We want more athletes to have the opportunity to learn skills they can bring to their next practice, their next competition and the way they respond to a challenge.

This is personal to all three of us. Reset is the training we wanted our own children to have access to. We are building it for them, for their teammates and for the families who have been looking for the same thing.
